Half term fun at Belton this February
Pull on your wellies, snuggle up in your cosiest scarf and gloves, and have some fun at Belton House.
There’s lots to do inside and out: get creative in the Discovery Centre, trek the parkland to discover Belton’s winter wildlife or challenge yourself with Belton's top '50 things to do before you're 11¾' in Lincolnshire’s biggest outdoor adventure playground.
Join in the family activities happening at Belton this half term:
Friday '50 things' challenge
Friday 14 and 21 February, 11am - 3pm, FREE.
Join the play team in Belton's outdoor adventure playground as they challenge families to complete a different '50 things' activity each Friday during the school holidays.
As you head into the playground, turn left and follow the path until you see the bunting leading to the ’50 things’ station. This winter we’ll challenge you to:
- No. 36 Make a home for wildlife on Friday 14 February
- No. 45 Find your way with a map on Friday 21 February
Winter wildlife hide & seek family trail
Friday 14 - Sunday 23 February, 9.30am - 3pm, £2 per trail.
Pick up a wildlife trail and become a naturalist for the day. Trek the parkland route and discover what wildlife can be found at Belton over winter. Free badge for all great explorers!
Half term fun in the Discovery Centre
Friday 14 - Sunday 23 February, 11am-3pm.
Open every day of the school holidays, come along to discover more about wildlife at Belton with activities and crafts for all the family to enjoy. There’ll even be a chance to plant wildflower seeds and make mini-beast hotels to take home. Small charges may apply.
Children’s University Passports can also be stamped here.
Go on an Art Adventure
£4 per scrapbook.
Pick up a scrapbook and go on an Art Adventure around Belton House to gain your Discover Arts Award and receive a certificate. Arts Award Discover is an introductory award open to children and young people aged up to 25. It’s a fun way to find out about Belton House and some of the people who lived here.
Explore Belton with a Ranger Pack this winter. Borrow a pack from the Discovery Centre and simply return it at the end of your visit. Each pack comes with all the equipment you need and shows the best places to take part in ranger activities. There are four ranger activities to choose from:
- Create: be an artist
- Explore: be a tree detective
- Discover: be a twitcher
- Discover: be a bug hunter
Attention all passengers, collect a choo-choo loyalty card from Belton’s miniature train to receive your tenth journey free. Train tickets cost £1.50 per ride.

All activities require grounds admission unless otherwise stated. National Trust members receive free house and grounds admission at Belton House.
