Volunteer at Berrington Hall

Volunteer rangers working out in the parkland

We have a number of exciting projects going on so we really need your help. From bringing the mansion to life to taking part in our up and coming projects of 2017; getting involved can really be rewarding and fun.

You don’t need any qualifications or specific experience, you just need to be willing to get involved and enjoy a new challenge. Training is provided and you’ll have a buddy to help you find your feet. The time commitment is once a fortnight, or as little or as much as you can spare. You’ll be amazed at what you can do.

Our volunteers say

‘My wife and I moved house to Leominster with a smaller garden than we had before. So helping to tend the vegetable patch and gardens has been great. I grow a much wider variety of plants than I did before and digging really keeps me fit.’ Percy Manton, Garden Volunteer

‘When the children finally flew the nest, days became too quiet. Now I volunteer for Berrington Hall. I’ve joined the really welcoming team in the house. I help one day a week sometimes, which is great to get me out and about.’ Juliet Hall, Mansion Guide

There are plenty of different roles you can do from customer facing room guides to back office supports. We will always welcome more help in every part of Berrington, especially with all that we have coming up in 2017. You never know which one of our projects will inspire you to get involved. What with a series of new installations around the mansion, anything might grab you.

Here are a couple of examples but contact us to find out more.

Room Guide

As a Room Guide you'll be joining a dedicated team who bring Berrington Hall to life for visitors. You will help visitors explore the Georgian grandeur of the house and discover the stories of the families and servants who lived and worked there.

Events and Activities Assistant

There's nothing like a fun day out; and these assistants make them happen by helping with everything from children's craft activities to theatre performances and Christmas events. This is for you if you're cheerful, positive and like meeting people.

There is such a wide range of volunteering roles including conservation

Get in touch

We also have other needs for help with administration, in the shop, ticket office, as well as in the wider parkland and with events. You will be part of a team; you can share your skills and gain new ones, make new friends and most importantly have some fun.

If you'd like to find out more about how to get involved please click on the get involved link below or  email Emma Hitchings.
