Volunteer at Berrington Hall

A volunteer cleaning and taking an image of a wooden box

From bringing the mansion to life to taking part in our up and coming projects, find out how you can get involved, meet new people and support our cause.

You don’t need any qualifications or specific experience, you just need to be willing to get involved and enjoy a new challenge. Training is provided and you’ll have a buddy to help you find your feet. The time commitment is once a fortnight, or as little or as much as you can spare. You’ll be amazed at what you can do.

" I have joined the really welcoming team in the house"
- Juliet Hall, Mansion Guide

Our volunteers say

‘My wife and I moved house to Leominster with a smaller garden than we had before. So helping to tend the vegetable patch and gardens has been great. I grow a much wider variety of plants than I did before and digging really keeps me fit.’ Percy Manton, Garden Volunteer

‘When the children finally flew the nest, days became too quiet. Now I volunteer for Berrington Hall. I’ve joined the really welcoming team in the house. I help one day a week sometimes, which is great to get me out and about.’ Juliet Hall, Mansion Guide

There are plenty of different roles you can do from customer facing room guides to second-hand bookshop volunteers. You never know which one of our projects will inspire you to get involved.

Here are a couple of examples but contact us to find out more.

Room Guide

As a Room Guide you'll be joining a dedicated team who bring Berrington Hall to life for visitors. You will help visitors explore the Georgian grandeur of the house and discover the stories of the families and servants who lived and worked there. Click here to find out more and apply.

Second-hand bookshop volunteer

Why not join our friendly bookshop team? Support with the organisation of books in our store and their display within the bookshop. Take donations from visitors using the till and provide a warm and friendly welcome into the bookshop. Click here to find out more.
