We offer three different ways you can fullfill your DoE award requirements; by either helping run day to day operations or events at the Outdoor Centre or by supporting our conservation efforts.

Red squirrel conservation
£130 per person

Dramatically located in Poole harbour, Brownsea Island is a haven for wildlife with woodland and heathland habitat as well as a lagoon. Help us to look after our native population of Red Squirrels by volunteering with us. We will take you on a guided walk and show you the sites, you can get stuck in with the Ranger team and create your own activity. Camping pitch, catering equipment, communal use of gas burners and Island entry are included. You must be over 18 years old to attend.

The Warden Experience

Come and get stuck in with our Outdoor Centre Ranger team. Join in with the day to day running of the campsite and outdoor centre. Help us with conservation and a wide range of practical tasks and activities. Challenge yourself to become an overnight duty Volunteer Warden and support visiting groups. Improve your communication, team work and outdoors skills. Camping pitch, catering equipment, communal use of gas burners and Island entry are included. You must be over 18 years old to attend.
