Volunteer with the Brownsea Island Youth Service Team (BIYST)
We have a very active youth service team which offers volunteering opportunities for those aged between 14-18 years. BIYST help throughout the season with the daily running of the centre, some conservation tasks and our event programme. The aim is to help members gain new skills and knowledge whilst getting involved with tasks like path building, fencing, delivering activities and the use of basic tools.

Red squirrel conservation
20th April – 24th April 2017
Dramatically located in Poole harbour, Brownsea Island is a haven for wildlife with woodland and heathland habitat as well as a lagoon. Family camping on Brownsea Island
Four times a year we open the campsite doors and allow families to camp. Those who come and stay experience a themed 2-day camp with a range of activities on offer. Get stuck in with the campsite wardens, sing at the campfire, dress up in fancy dress and help us with the running of the event. Camping pitch, catering equipment, some meals and island entry included. You must be over 18 years old to attend.
Come and get stuck in with our outdoor centre warden team. Join in with the day to day running of the campsite and outdoor centre. Help us with conservation and a wide range of practical tasks. Challenge yourself to become an overnight duty volunteer and support visiting groups. Improve your communication, team work and outdoors skills. Camping pitch, catering equipment and Island entry are included. You must be over 18 years old to attend.
