The Observatory lands at Burton Bradstock

The Observatory rotating structures on a fine day with sea views

This summer, come along and visit the exciting Observatory at Burton Bradstock.

Two exciting, temporary, rotating structures have arrived alongside the coast path in Burton Bradstock. The Observatory, a sculptural installation, is a collaborative project by SPUD, an award-winning charity which specialises in the arts, architecture and educational projects. It is being run in parnership with Arts University Bournemouth and the National Trust.

The installation will host artists-in-residence, creative students, graduates and staff from Arts University Bournemouth, particularly from the architecture courses, who will be using the incredible Jurassic Coast views for inspiration for their work.

The two structures are an artists’ studio called The Study and a public shelter named The Workshop and they have been recognised with awards including a RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) South Award in 2016.

Come and explore The Observatory which will be at Burton Bradstock until the end of September 2017. You can find out more about The Observatory and its visiting artists, at or on Facebook.
