Visit the house at Canons Ashby

Canons Ashby's Tudor kitchen

It is fantastic to be able to open the doors of Canons Ashby to our visitors again and be able to let you enjoy this fascinating historic house. Our main historic show rooms are open and our staff and volunteers are on hand to answer your questions as you explore.

Please check the main opening times for the latest information. Entry to the house on busy days is by timed ticket; please check at reception upon arrival for details.

Fortunately we are able to open the majority of the house including the major show rooms, so visitors will be able to see almost all of the rooms.

Here are some of the key things you may need to know about visiting the house:

  • Sadly we can't guarantee entry if it is a very busy day such as a weekend or bank holiday. The team at reception will be able to advise what time slots are available.
  • Please do not bring large bags with you: you will not be able to bring large bags into the house and we currently have nowhere to store bags, coats, umbrellas.
  • Buggies can be left outside: there is a small amount of unmanned storage available inside, please ask the team.
  • The safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff remains our top priority. We'll continue to provide hand sanitiser and stick to our high standards of cleanliness. In England and Northern Ireland, wearing a face covering is a personal choice, although they are recommended in crowded and enclosed places.
