Priory view 4 mile walk

Walking trail

Built near the 13th-century Augustinian priory, our Elizabethan manor house is set in a tranquil ancient landscape. Take care as there may be livestock in some of the fields on this route. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead. Please note: the Oxford lane is extremely muddy and churned up at the moment (end of 2020.)

Priory view 4 mile walk

This mainly level four mile walk, which encompasses sections of the Macmillan Way, passes to the east and South of Canons Ashby, returning through the lovely village of Moreton Pinkney. After heading out across the site of the medieval village the route turns south along the Oxford Lane with glimpses across the fields of the Priory Church, before going west towards Moreton Pinkney and returns across the fields towards Canons Ashby. There is one stile on the walk (way point 6) which may prove difficult for some dogs, as they will need to climb over due to livestock fencing.  Please note that some sections of the route can be very muddy under foot and the Oxford lane is rather rutted and uneven. Sturdy footwear, water and appropriate clothing are essential.

Please note: the Oxford lane is extremely muddy and churned up at the moment (end of 2020.)
