There's lots going on this summer holiday at Castle Drogo from an old school sports day trail to theatre on the lawn.
Theatre on the lawn
On Tuesday 2 August at 5pm there is a special performance of David Walliams' 'Ratburger' on the croquet lawn. To book your tickets please call The Plough Arts Centre on 01805 624624 (Tickets £13, £11 and £9).
Crafty castle capers
Every Tuesday during the school holidays there are crafty activties in the hut. (starting on Tuesday 26 July until Tuesday 30 August, a small charge applies). On Tuesday 26 July the activity will be clay modelling.
'Old school sports day' trail
Every day from Saturday 16 July until Sunday 4 September, 11am-4pm there is an old school sports day trail. You can take part in activities such as an egg and spoon race, shotput and hula hooping.
In the house
Around the house children can follow the luggage label trail around the castle searching for the missing objects such as the chair and the jelly mould.
In the garden
You can have a game of tennis on the lawn or have a picnic in the orchard which is full of wild flowers.
Or you could run wild around Piddledown Common, it's a great place for kite flying and tracking wild animals. On Wednesday 3 August, 2-4pm as part of the national day for play there will be Play Day, an afternoon of fun and games on the estate.
