We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Hoathwaite Campsite soon.

Following the latest update from government, we’re closing all of our campsites in England from 5 November to 2 December inclusive. We hope to welcome guests from 3 December onwards, pending government guidance.

When we can reopen, take a look below to find out what's in place to help keep you and our staff safe.

On arrival
Hoathwaite is a simple site with no reception and a self-check-in procedure. At this time, we can only accept campers who have pre-booked a pitch

Please find a spot to pitch up and be sure to leave ample space between you and your neighbours. In normal times our rule is at least 6 metres, but with a reduced capacity on site we’d like all campers to leave 8-10 metres between yours and the next tent – that’s about 10-12 paces.

Our campsite ranger will be making frequent rounds of the site during the day. They will come and check your booking details and will attach a tent tag to your tent.

Toilet/shower blocks and extra facilities
Our existing facilities are small and you’ll be able to see from the doorway if the stalls are occupied. Please wait outside and give others space to leave before entering. We have 2 self-contained shower cubicles on site. Please be considerate of other campers and try to limit the time you spend there.

Washing up facilities
We have pot washing facilities available in the open barn behind the toilet block. There are also some free-standing taps dotted around the site.

Chemical disposal
A chemical disposal point is located between the top and bottom fields.

Access to the lakeshore for campers only
There is direct access to Coniston Water from the lower field for non-powered boats (fees apply). If you're not camping at Hoathwaite and you want access to the lake, please head up to Coniston Boating Centre (LA21 8AN) or Monk Coniston car park.

General
There’ll be new notices in place in communal areas and we ask campers to kindly observe these to allow everyone on site to have a relaxing holiday. We’d like to gently remind campers that for the safety of guests and staff, to observe social distancing guidance at all times.
