We ask that you observe a few simple campsite rules so that your stay with us is as enjoyable as possible.

Arrival times

We don't have a manned reception at Hoathwaite. Arrival time is noon onwards. The site warden will visit regularly each day . Currently we are unable to accept campers without an advanced booking. This is so we can manage the numbers on site to maintain social distancing.

Departure times

Please leave by 11am on your day of departure. 

Minimum stay

There is a minimum two night stay at weekends and for all advanced bookings. A three night minimum stay applies at Bank Holidays.

Dogs / pets

Dogs are welcome on site (maximum of two per party), but please notify us at the time of booking. 

Quiet please

We ask that our visitors are considerate to their neighbours at all times, but ‘quiet please’ between 10pm and 7am.


Please leave at least six metres between tents and campervans (including any awnings)

Maximum occupancy

The maximum number of adults allowed in any party is four. This maximum applies whether you book together or separately. The only exception is for official groups such as Duke of Edinburgh or Scouts.

Clubs, societies and other officially recognised groups

We may be able to accommodate these at certain times of year. The organiser should get in touch and provide some proof of group status when booking.

All group leaders must complete a group booking form - it is really helpful to have the detail of how many campers in the party and the number of tents and vehicles so that we can identify the best spot for your needs.

All group bookings must be made via the booking office and cannot be made online. Call our Bookings Team, Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, on 01539 432733 or email your requirements. Please note that your group's booker must be at least 18 years of age.


For obvious reasons, campfires are not allowed, but barbecues are permitted, provided they are raised off the ground. Ask the campsite team for stones if necessary.


Smoking is not allowed in or around the facility block.

Special requests

Special requests, including requests for adjacent camping pitches, must be indicated to us at the time of booking. We will always do our best to honour them but they cannot be guaranteed.

Complaints and feedback

We'll do our very best to ensure you have a very enjoyable stay with us. If however, you find cause for complaint, please immediately contact one of the campsite staff, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. We will not normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after departure from the campsite if you did not make the problem or complaint known to staff during your stay.
