Gibside Grow Show

Beetroot in the garden

A celebration of horticulture, food and creativity.

On Sunday 18 September, 11am until 4pm, the Walled Garden will host the first Gibside Grow Show.

We like to think of it as a celebration of all things horticultural, including gardening, vegetable growing and showing, food in general, creativity and tenacity.

Simply put, it will showcase the huge, the quirky, the tastiest and the ugliest of local produce alongside other bits and bobs.

So, whether you’re a local garden enthusiast, allotment holder, a lover of jams, a keen baker, creative maker or just want to see what the fuss is about – come and be a part of it.

You can turn up and meet gardeners to exchange horticultural tips, learn about flower arranging, composting and see live demonstrations. Throughout the day there’ll be the opportunity to take part in activities ranging from woodturning and weaving to face-painting and flower bomb-making.

If you'd like to exhibit, excellent. There are competition classes for flowers, fruit and vegetables, cakes, jams and honey as well as an opportunity to get crafty. So there’s plenty of opportunity to win a prize.
