Keeping with tradition, BBC One have aired contemporary adaptations of Agatha Chrisite's novels at Christmastime with classics such as And Then There Were None and Witness for the Prosecution.

This Christmas Agatha Christie Limited, in conjunction with BAFTA nominated writer Sarah Phelps and Mammoth Screen, is back and with it a new TV drama adaptation to our televisions.

The plot

Set in 1930s Britain, Hercule Poirot is on the trail of a serial killer nicknamed ABC who seems to be murdering people in alphabetical order. All are found with an ABC Railway Guide – the murderer’s calling card - beside their bodies.

At every attempt Poirot tries to investigate he is thwarted; a cunning enemy, a divided and unloving public and police force who are no longer his ally. He must use every little grey cell possible in this white knuckle tale.

Follow in Poirot’s footsteps

The plot brings Poirot to local areas around South Devon and Torbay, most notably Churston Station which is just under 2 miles away from Greenway. Churston Station opened in 1861 and is now a heritage railway station, with a stream train that trundles past Greenway.

And if you wander down through the woodland garden you will discover the Boathouse. Used as inspiration for the scene of the crime in ‘Dead Mans Folly’, it is also a place to enjo the river views and spot local wildlife.
