What’s on near the Hunter’s Inn this spring
There's lots going on this year on Exmoor, from family fun nature trails and a wild play area to guided butterfly walks with experts and scenic coastal hikes - here's what's happening this spring...
New for 2019, the Hunter's Inn Wild Play Area. This is a fun, nature-inspired wild play area with tree trunks to clamber over, a wooden carved 'logosaurus', and all sorts of fun wild play in the beautiful garden behind the Inn. Find out more here. Open all year round.
Saturday 27 April-Sunday 9 June, between 10.30am and 3.30pm – Exmoor wildflower trails at Heddon Valley and Watersmeet tea gardens. Discover the magical beauty of Exmoor's wildlflowers this Spring with this fun and informative trail around the woodlands of Watersmeet and Heddon Valley. £1.
Saturday 25 May-Sunday 2 June, between 10.30am and 3.30pm – Family Butterfly Trail, Heddon Valley. Heddon Valley is home to hundreds of beautiful butterflies, attracting some of the rarest species in Britain. In celebration of these unique residents we have created a fun family trail through the valley, with butterfly clues to find along the way. £1.
Monday 3 June-Sunday 30 June, between 10.30am and 3.30pm – High Brown Fritillary trail, Heddon Valley. Heddon Valley is home to some of the rarest butterflies in the country, including the High Brown Fritillary. If you want to know more, this informative trail will help you discover some of the best spots to see these beautiful butterflies and learn more about how we care for the special landscape in which they thrive.
Monday 17 June, 1pm-3pm – Guided butterfly and nature stroll in the Heddon Valley. Come and learn more about this natural butterfly haven and its inhabitants (including the rare High Brown Fritillary) from a knowledgeable expert on a beautiful guided walk through the valley.
