Visiting Hill Top as a group

A view of ceramics on display

Here's all the information you need to visit Beatrix Potter's beloved home, Hill Top, with your group. All groups need to book in advance - booking as a group is in fact the only way you can guarantee entry into Hill Top.

If you're an organised tour group of eight or more, travelling by minibus (maximum 22 seater), then you'll need to make a booking, in advance, and have a leader able to act for you to get the tickets and pay for the visit.

For smaller groups of less than eight, or if you're a larger group planning to visit by car, we're unable to make a pre-booking.

Beat the queues

Your reward for booking your group in advance is a guaranteed time slot and you can beat the queues, which sometimes can be found at Hill Top on busy days in high season.

Don't miss The Beatrix Potter Gallery off your itinerary, perfectly placed just down the road in Hawkshead. It is the only place where you can continually see her original illustrations on display from the famous tales. It makes the perfect addition to Hill Top and is easily done in a short stop off. Group rates are available at the Gallery.
