Set on a working cattle and sheep farm, this stone farmhouse offers uninterrupted views over the patchwork fields and hills of Purbeck. It was once used as a hunting lodge for Corfe Castle and has retained its rustic character with original flooring, inglenook fireplaces with woodburners and a Rayburn stove in the kitchen. To the side and rear of the property there is a large grassed garden and orchard. The cottage is linked by a loggia to another small cottage, The Cheese House (sleeps two).

With enough room for eight people, Westwood Farm is perfect for large families or groups wanting to explore the golden beaches and rocky headland of the South Dorset Coast. Set out for a walk on one of the many footpaths nearby or loop onto the South West Coast Path. The four miles of sandy beaches at Studland Bay are just a 20-minute drive away. If the weather is against you, retreat inside to snuggle up in one of the cottage’s cosy window seats.

Just a five-minute drive away is Corfe Castle. The castle dates back more than 1,000 years and as a guest at Westwood Farm you can explore the historic ruins free of charge. A day trip to Brownsea Island is also not to be missed. Jump on the ferry at Poole and head over to the island, where you could spot wading birds in the lagoon or wander through the woodland in search of red squirrels.
