Ightham Mote welcome volunteer

A smiling welcome volunteer in reception at Ightham Mote

Welcome Volunteers are often the first contact our visitors have with the property, and as we all know, the fist impression can be vital.

You will support our staff at visitor reception by giving a warm welcome to our members and paying visitors, giving directions, advice and maps and scanning membership cards. You'll also help to promote our property raffle to support our conservation work and current fundraising campaign.

In the upcoming year, we are hoping to open a second touch point in the visitor car park to reduce queues and traffic in our busy visitor reception and provide an earlier welcome.

Our sessions in reception run from 10:30am – 1:30am in the morning and 1:30pm – 5pm in the afternoon.

" I volunteer as it gives me the opportunity to meet so many different people; young, old, or people from other countries. I love being involved with the National Trust and feel really privileged to be associated with this beautiful property. Working alongside so many lovely, friendly staff is a real pleasure."
- Sylvia Davis, Welcome Volunteer at Ightham Mote
