Autumn highlights at Lanhydrock
The sun may not always be shining, but nature is offering up her most dazzling colours at this time of year. As the seasons change, take the chance to see the outdoors at Lanhydrock in a different light. So wrap up warm, walk, cycle and explore before rewarding yourself with a warm cup of something tasty at the Park Café.
Take a walk or cycle through the incredible landscape of orange and gold this autumn. Jump in crunchy leaves, discover shiny conkers and enjoy invigorating fresh air with all the family.
Explore the estate
Can you find a conker on a Horse Chestnut Tree? Or can you find the leaves that have turned the brightest red? There are so many routes around the Lanhydrock countryside to discover; from muddy puddles by the river to piles of crispy leaves in the shady lanes and the rustling peace of the ancient woodland, there are trails for all ages and abilities. Remember, dogs are welcome anywhere across the 900 acre estate.
Discover the garden
The herbaceous borders are in full bloom and the autumn plants are beginning to flower. The delicate pink and white petals of the Japanese anemones and eucryphia can be spotted around the garden, as can the bright and bold cautleyas, cannas and sedums.
Not to forget the trees, the acers and parrottia add deep shades of red and warm orange to the garden palette as do the magnolias maturing their fiery seed pods.
Whether you're new to cycling or an experienced cyclist, we've got a range of trails to suit all abilities. We also have a cycle hire hub so if you don't have a bike (or can't bring it with you) you can hire a bike for a day.
