Beaches around the Lizard

The Lizard has some of Cornwall's best beaches. We've selected some of our favourites to help you decide where to go.

Kynance beach and it's impressive rocky features

Kynance Cove

It's not hard to understand why Kynance, with it's white sand, rock towers and turquoise sea, has been voted one of the best beaches in the world. Often very busy in the summer, the car park can be full by 11am so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The sun goes down over Poldhu beach

Poldhu

With a surf school, cafe and large sandy beach you can see why Poldhu is a firm favourite with both locals and visitors

Path to the beach at Gunwalloe Church Cove

Gunwalloe

Nestled into the cliff lies a medieval church surrounded by two popular beaches. The area, once the location of one of Cornwall's oldest settlements, is also home to an important reed bed abundant with bird life.

Chynhalls Point on the east coast of The Lizard

Poltesco and the quieter east coast beaches

The east coast offers secluded, and often pebbly, beaches like Carleon Cove at Poltesco. Take a walk along the coast path and you can find your own little beach to while away the hours on.
