Mrs Wolfe's 18th Century Recipes
Transport your senses back in time by sampling some of Mrs Wolfe's very own recipes from the eighteenth century. Pop in any time between 1-4pm on any Sundays or Bank Holiday Monday.
Mrs Wolfe kept plenty of recipes from cakes and bakes to even medicinal drinks and ointments. Every Sunday the kitchen gives off wonderful aromas as a volunteer brings to life these Georgian recipes for you to try.
We'll have different recipes to try so you'll have to keep stopping by for the latest creations. From lemon drops to potato cakes, Queens cakes to Georgian macaroons there's plenty to tempt your taste buds.
We've tweaked the recipes slightly from their eighteenth century origins and introduced similar modern ingredients where possible. Please check with the volunteer for any allergy requirements.
Every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday; 1pm-4pm.
Not only did Mrs Wolfe bake food but she also made her own medicines. Look out for some of her homemade remedies lining the shelves in the kitchen.
Feel free to smell some of the weird and wonderful ingredients we have on display that Mrs Wolfe would have incorporated in her recipes.
Thank you for the support
Please do try some of the treats on display and if you like what you've tried why not leave us a donation? We even have some print out sheets so you can recreate the recipes at home with modern ingredients.
