Visiting Scotney Castle with children

Senior Ranger and a girl in front of the Scotney Castle bug hotel

Scotney Castle is a great place to visit as a family. With plenty of activities on offer and over 780 acres of parkland and woodland to explore as well as the house and garden and Old Castle, there’s so much here for all the family to enjoy.

Natural Play Trail

Our buggy-friendly trail means you and your family can enjoy den building, balancing on a fallen tree, jumping through tyres and much more as you complete the natural play activities along our trail.

Build a den

Wilderness camp is open all year for den building. Senior ranger Ross explains, 'To build a great den all you need is your hands, good woodland and some imagination.' We have the good woodland, so we'll see you there.

Make a discovery

There are all sorts of things to be discovered in our Discovery Room. Want to know what a mole tunnel looks like or what it feels like to stroke a wild animal? Then this is the place for you.
