Beatrix Potter fortnight at Speke Hall

Speke Hall is sending big happy birthday wishes to one of the National Trust’s most beloved figures - Beatrix Potter, who would have been 150 this year! Her work and her characters have become national treasures, inspiring children everywhere and sparking imagination in the British countryside.

This summer we will be celebrating her work with a wonderful family friendly trail through the house and grounds. Can you spot Peter’s Rabbit’s belongings in Mr McGregor’s kitchen garden? He left in a scurry! Or see if you can find the home of the Bad Mice in the big old Hall. Hunca Munca has been exploring all over the place!

Join us for Peter Rabbit story time in the gardens (selected days only, weather dependant) or tuck in to some of Peter’s favourite treat in the restaurant - carrot cake! Fans of Beatrix Potter can pick up soft toys, books and limited edition prints from the Speke Hall shop.

Our grounds are filled with beautiful flowers and wildlife, so why not take a leaf out of Beatrix’s book and bring along your watercolours and sketch pads and rest a while, enjoy the creative inspiration. What stories and characters will you dream up?
