Join our first ever Night Run at Sticklebarn

Night run begins on the start line

The Night Run event offers a great opportunity to get active in 2018 and create a new experience in the Lakes. Explore the valley by night and see the mountains in a different light whilst helping to raise important funds to support our conservation work. Night Run is a national series of night-time trail running events, organised in partnership with outdoor retailer Cotswold Outdoor. There will be £100 of Cotswold Outdoor vouchers to be won in a prize draw on the night.

The route

Starting from Sticklebarn, the 7km route takes you in a loop along the side of the valley and involves some challenging sections. After an initial steep climb, the trail is technical but fantastic running; passing through the Great Langdale Campsite and up onto the valley side heading back towards Sticklebarn on the Cumbria Way. Runners will finish along the Go Lakes cycle track with the final mile being flat, fast running. This route is open to all abilities and is perfect for those wanting a challenge, and if you’d rather walk than run, you’re welcome to.

The event will be marshalled and the route will be well signed with reflective arrows and flags.

Participants must be over the age of 12 to enter and, if under the age of 16, must be accompanied by an adult around the course.

Useful information

Head to Sticklebarn afterwards for a warm welcome, real ales, a roaring fire and a chance to share your experience with your fellow runners.

Where does my entry fee go?

The money raised from the Night Run in Langdale will help us fund our essential conservation work in the valley.

Where to stay

Our Great Langdale Campsite is minutes down the road from Sticklebarn and has some great cosy camping options along with plenty of grassy pitches for a tent. The wooden pods have sheep wool insulation inside the walls and a double glazed window for winter warmth. If you’re interested in booking a pitch see our website.
