Summer fun for all

Children running in tattershall Castle grounds

The summer time is the perfect opportunity to spend long days playing in the sun. Whether you’re taking part in a children's trail, watching a medieval re-enactment or enjoying a picnic with a castle view, there's plenty of opportunities to enjoy your holidays at the castle.

Pick up a trail from the Guardhouse and start your adventure in the Great Tower. On your way there, don't forget to take a look around all the nooks and crannies and if you're quiet, who knows what you'll see up close. Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to see baby rabbits or our protected species of newts.

Get active by ticking off some of 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾ . Come see what you can build with the soft shapes in the Inner Ward or playin  the giant sandpit (just behind the Great Tower) –buckets and spades provided.

You can take a break and rest while enjoying the sunshine. Lounge on a deckchair an take in the breathtaking views whilst listening to birds songs. Bring along a picnic and make use of our benches, or find a shady spot anywhere in our grounds.n You may even be lucky enough to see RAF Coningsby planes flying just above the Tower during your visit.

While planning your visit check our events programme, there's lots on offer. Why not make the most of the long days with outdoor theatre, make sure you don’t miss our re-enactments perfect for the whole family and venture the castle in those days the youngest visitors are challenged to lots of different games.
