The Forest Tapestry
In 2017 we are displayed The Forest tapestry by William Morris in the Great Parlour, on loan from the V&A.
On display at Wightwick Manor in 2017, The Forest is one of the finest tapestries Morris & Co ever produced. Now in the care of the Victoria and Albert Museum the tapestry tours the world, and once again visited Wolverhampton.
In 2014 we purchased four design drawings for the tapestry by Philip Webb which used to belong to Wolverhampton resident Laurence Hodson. We displayed the tapestry alongside the drawings the following year before loaning them to the V&A so that they could do the same.
