October half-term activities

Spooky trails on Brownsea Island

When you arrive at Brownsea Island, the stress of every day life will slide away. There are plenty of places to discover on your own or you can head up to the visitor centre where there are different guided trails and tracker packs available.

The Great Brownsea Storybook trail (suggested donations) has a spooky twist this half-term, meet old well known characters along the way and help the witch find all the things that Hanzel and Gretel have stolen.

Join one of our free family red squirrel walks running at 11.30am and 2pm daily and find out all about our rare red squirrels and see how many you can spot.

Monday 23 & Wednesday 25 you can come and warm your toes and cook a marshmallow on the campfire at the Outdoor Centre from 12pm-3pm.

Tuesday 24 & Thursday 26 have a go at either archery or low ropes or both! We have sessions running in the morning and afternoon, £5 per child, recommended age 6+.  Booking is advisable.

Other trails include the tree climbing and the coastal creatures uncovered (at low tide only- check in the visitor centre for tide times).  Tracker packs will give you an opportunity to explore the island's wildlife a little more closely and there's a fun spotting trail for the really young.

Put your orienteering skills into practice with our routes around the island, we have children and adult routes available.  Packs available from the Visitor Centre or the Outdoor Centre - no need to pre-book.
