Autumn on Brownsea

It's a busy time of year for Brownsea Island's resident wildlife, with lots to see. From watching red squirrels scuttle across the forest floor, to soaking up the last of the light evenings with a stay on our campsite, there's plenty to do on Brownsea this autumn.

Red squirrel walks

Autumn is a great time to spot red squirrels on Brownsea Island as they scurry around the woodland floor hiding food for the winter. Guided red squirrel walks run twice a day between Monday 24 September to Friday 19 October. Family red squirrel walks run throughout the October half term.

Fungi forays

On Saturday 29 September and Saturday 13 October, why not wander through the woodland on Brownsea and discover a whole world of fungi growing in the damp understory. You never know what gems you might unearth.
