In line with Welsh Government legislation, the castle is currently closed. From 5 December the estate, garden, shop and tea-room are open every day to Wales residents and to groups of four or less (excluding children below 11) unless they are from the same household. To avoid disappointment please book in advance, especially at busier times such as weekends and bank holidays. However, where space is available on weekdays, pre-booking may not always be necessary. If you do not book we cannot guarantee admission. We're looking forward to welcoming you back.

What refreshments are available?

Our Courtyard café is open on weekends and will be serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, light bites, cakes and ice cream. We’ve introduced new safety measures including reduced seating, screens at our till and collection points, and waymarked routes. We’ll also only be accepting card payment. We look forward to welcoming you back and know that you’ll support us to make this a safe experience for everyone.

In need of some retail therapy?

Our shop is now open Wednesday-Sunday, 11am-4pm, and has a beautiful selection of garden and homeware products for you to choose from. To keep everyone safe we’ve introduced social distancing measures and we'll only be accepting card payments. Every penny spent in our shop remains at Chirk Castle and helps us to continue looking after this special place for everyone, for ever – thank you.
