Guided tours at Dinefwr

National Trust Welcome you to Newton House

There are loads of opportunities to discover more about our stories, history or conservation work here at Dinefwr. The best way to delve a little deeper is by joining one of our regular guided tours.

Here are some of our favourites:

Hidden House Tour: Go behind the scenes at Newton House and visit the places that aren’t usually accessible to the public. Our guide will bring the history of this magnificent mansion to life and show you all the fascinating features inside.

Downstairs Tour: Life for the servants of Newton House was very different to those ‘upstairs’. This tour takes you into the basement of our 17 century mansion where you’ll get all the upstairs downstairs gossip from our knowledgeable guides.

Tractor Trailer Tour: Climb aboard the tractor trailer with our Ranger and head out on a parkland safari on our National Nature Reserve. You’re likely to meet our resident wildlife including Red Kites, lots of garden birds and our herd of Fallow Deer. Get up close and personal with our White Park Cattle and discover how they fit in with our fascinating Welsh history.

Secret estate: Join our Ranger and discover parts of Dinefwr that no one knows about.

Conservation talks: As a conservation charity we work hard to safeguard the special features of Dinefwr so that they can be admired and enjoyed for years to come. We often hold conservation talks at Newton House and in the parkland. So if you’re interested in seeing how we look after our special places, this is the tour for you.

Self-led: Go at your own pace and discover the stories of Dinefwr with a handy audio guide. Just ask at the Visitor Information Centre on arrival.

Just ask: Our team are more than happy to answer any questions you may have during your visit to Dinefwr.
