A suggested itinerary
Tailor your visit to suit you. There is so much to do at Shugborough, so this is a suggestion on how you might like to spend your time with us.
Half an hour
Pop over to Shugborough for a quick rest bite. Come to power down and experience this snapshot of Staffordshire’s heritage. Head over to the Walled Garden and meander around the seasonal blooms and tasty fruit and veg. Or you can wander down to Park Farm and say hello to the Tamworth Pigs and Dorking Chickens.
Got the little ones with you? Run their legs by having a go on our play area, Explorers’ Wood. If your little one has four legs, head to Shugborough for a lovely dog walk.
Half a day
Got a little more time? Indulge your curiousity and uncover Shugborough’s heritage in the mansion, Lichfield apartment and servant’s quarters. Alternatively get out and about in the outdoors and explore our gardens and parkland. Wander through our walled and formal gardens and over the bridge to the vast arboretum. No matter what you choose, make sure you treat yourself to an afternoon tea in the Mansion Tearoom and browse around our shop and second-hand bookshop.
Try to do it all. From heritage to the outdoors, from picnics to sit down meals, make your day what you want it to be. Why not pick up one of our walk leaflets and venture out to Stafford Plantation and Satnal Hills to try and spot some seasonal wildlife? You may want to sign up for a membership as you won’t be able to do all of the estate in one visit.
