Wildlife walk at Brownsea Island in Dorset

Child on walking trail at Brownsea Island

You may spot red squirrels or rare birds on this short walk, but you won't be too tired by the end.

This one-mile walk cuts through mixed and pine woodland at the centre of the island, offering an excellent opportunity to see red squirrels and red squirrel conservation in action, and makes the perfect place for a stop for little legs too.

In winter, the area is visited by huge flocks of birds including little egrets and avocets.
