What we offer secondary schools

Bring education to life at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal. Let the wide open space capture the imagination and entice pupils to learn about history, science and art on a site that's been influenced heavily by all three.

Step back in time in history workshops

Be transported back into medieval times while on the ‘Act the facts’ workshop. Watch pupils absorb the rich history of the site on this interactive and fun course through the abbey where each pupil is assigned their own character to play out, learning as they go.  There’s drama, riches and a little bit of treachery to discover who destroyed the abbey… Try it if you dare!

Looking for the next Burges

Let the students discover their creative side with heritage crafts  and water colour painting in Swanley Grange. You can choose from led mosaic and felt workshops  where students can learn and practice their art skills. You never know – you might be inspiring the next William Burges who designed St. Mary’s Church with its elaborate mosaic floor for Lady Ripon.
