Summer Games at Godolphin

A honey bee collects pollen from a purple Dahlia

Be a busy bee this summer and join in with lots of different outdoor activities at Godolphin. Try your hand at archery and see if you can hit a bulls-eye, challenge your family to a game of animal charades in the orchard and pick up a racket to play a game of badminton. There’s also the busy bee challenge in the meadow – can you help Godolphin’s bees find all the flowers?

Summer games at Godolphin

Date and time: Sat 24 July - Sun 5 September 2021, 10am-5pm (last entry 4pm).

Try your hand at a game of archery and see how high you can score. Archery will be running on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the summer holidays, between 11am and 4pm. There's no extra cost and you don't need to book - just pick up a bow, ready set go!

Games in the orchard

I like to busy myself flying around the garden, collecting pollen for my home. Buzz, buzz, buzz! What animal could I bee?

Challenge your family to a game of animal charades - there are so many different animals that call Godolphin home. Choose one and act it out. Will your family and friends be able to guess what you are?

There will also be a badminton net set up on the orchard throughout the summer holidays (weather permitting) - pick up a racket and play a game...or two...or three!

The busy bee challenge

Godolphin is home to thousands of Cornish Black Bees - you will see them dancing from flower to flower in the garden. Can you complete the busy bee challenge in Godolphin's meadow? Help the bees find all the flowers and see who can do it the quickest. Why not "buzz buzz buzz" as you go and flap your wings to help you go faster?!

50 Things challenge

How many of the 50 Things to do before you're 11 3/4 activities have you completed? Here are some of our favourites at Godolphin:

Number 24 Go barefoot:

Take off your shoes and socks and explore Godolphin's Barefoot Trail. Starting just outside the Cider House, experience the feeling of grass beneath your feet and mud between your toes. Have fun and get closer to nature!

Number 28 Climb a huge hill:

Ready for a giant adventure? Get your walking shoes on and climb up Godolphin Hill. Can you see the big rocks at the top? Ancient folklore says these were placed there by giants! On a clear day you'll be able to see the sea too!

Number 44 Watch a bird:

Close your eyes and listen - can you hear all the birds singing? Now open your eyes and start watching! How many different birds can you spot at Godolphin?
