Treats in the café at Hinton Ampner

Our café is the perfect place to warm up after a brisk walk around our estate. Opening at 10am daily and serving hot food until 2.30pm, take a seat and relax with something tasty from our variety of homemade treats.

Housed in one of the oldest buildings on the Hinton estate, our café was formerly a stable.  Over the years it has had various uses including being the village Social Club.  Historically a hub of activity, our café is no different today.

If you are up early and fancy a spot of breakfast, our tempting options include scones, pastries and sausage baguettes. Yours to enjoy every day from 10am – 12pm.

As lunchtime approaches, our menu offers a delicious range of flavours.  For a light bite, warm up with leek and potato soup or a cheese and vegetable calzone.  You'll also find homemade sandwiches, from classic ham and mustard mayo to the fresh taste of hummus and sundried tomato.

Worked up a hearty appetite walking through the grounds? Try our caramelised onion and goat's cheese quiche or braised beef, mash and seasonal greens.

If you fancy a spot of something sweet, treat yourself to some fig and almond cake or celebrate the rhubarb season with our rhubarb and ginger bake.  Enjoy inside with a hot drink, all served on china, or take one of our cakes with you as you continue to explore the estate.

From plot to plate

With 70 percent of our food made on site with seasonal ingredients, our veg doesn’t have far to travel as it comes over from our Walled Garden.  Taken straight into our kitchen, delicious salads, soups and sandwiches are prepared onsite with our meat also being locally sourced.

Our chefs make all of our food fresh and also cater for gluten and dairy free visitors; just ask one of our café team members for more information.  The fully licensed café also sells a variety of local ales and a range of wines.

Pick 'n' Mix

For our younger diners, why not try one of our fun kids' pick and mix lunch boxes, full of tasty and balanced treats.  Youngsters can make up their own packed lunch, choosing from our range of sandwiches, drinks, fruit and snacks.  For something warmer, half-sized portions of jacket potatoes are also available.
