Stay at Cotehele this festive season and see the Christmas garland
Every year, Cotehele's gardeners build a 60-foot garland from thousands of flowers grown on the estate, and it adorns the Great Hall throughout Christmas. See it hung in all its glory until Sunday 7 January.
At Hall Court, you’ll experience staying in one of England’s best preserved Tudor houses, a fortified manor house with medieval roots, on a high bluff on the Cornish bank of the river Tamar. The first-floor apartment has intricate mullioned windows, arched doorways and many other interesting features, and is in the midst of life at Cotehele, with gardeners, conservationists and visitors going by. As well as the house, there’s the historic quay’s mill, acres of colourful gardens and orchard, and miles of estate footpaths to discover.
The Tamar Valley, meandering from Launceston to the Plymouth Estuary, offers great walking, cycling and horse riding, and there’s also the Tamar Valley Line from Plymouth to Gunniston, crossing the Calstock Viaduct.
