A special and luxurious escape with a roof terrace and lots of original features on the Blickling estate.
A holiday at Blickling Tower really is something special. Formerly the Earl of Buckinghamshire’s race stand, this luxurious accommodation now boasts a roof terrace. In keeping with its fine period style, original features such as the large arched windows and quirky spiralling staircase are complemented by an elegant décor.
Set on the Blickling parklands, views stretch across rolling fields, woodlands and out towards the coast. There are walking and cycling trails to explore and local ales to be sampled in the estate’s country pub, The Buckinghamshire Arms.
Beyond the estate walls, the sandy beaches and cliff top paths of the Norfolk coast are within 20 minute drive. Blakeney National Nature Reserve is 20 miles away. The Georgian market town of Aylsham can be reached within a 30 minute walk or five minute drive.
Kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath, steps up to sitting/dining room with multi-fuel stove. Spiral staircase leading to bedrooms.
One twin bedroom (can also be a 6' double on request).
One double (5' half tester bed) with en-suite shower room.
Third floor: Roof terrace with outdoor seating. Please note there is no access to the round tower above the roof terrace.
Access: The accessibility guide is for guidance only. For up-to-date information, please call the team on 0344 800 2070.
The main staircase in this cottage is a spiral staircase.
*WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. We are pleased to provide free WiFi at this cottage which is supported by BT.
Heating: Gas central heating included.
Parking: Available for two cars.
Garden: There is a fenced garden area.
Offers: Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage.
Please note: We do not consider this cottage suitable for children under the age of 6 due to the twin bedroom being on a different floor to the master bedroom and access to both being via the spiral stairwell. No stair-gates are provided due to the design of this building.
In July/August there may be open air concerts held on Blickling park beside the lake, this is likely to result in heavy traffic between 4pm to 11pm (Concert dates will be promoted on the Blickling Hall website).
August Bank Holiday Monday: Aylsham agricultural show is also held on the park and the local area will be busy all day/evening and possibly over the weekend before for preparation.
Outside: Farm vehicles sometimes use the drive for access to surrounding farmland.
There is a footpath passing the boundary of the property.
