About The Westwood Farm Cottages

Discover golden beaches, ruined castles and rolling countryside from this cosy, rural escape at the heart of the Jurassic coast.

2 individual cottages sleeping 10 guests

These charming cottages nestles in idyllic countryside on a working cattle and sheep farm. It is thought to have been used as the Cheese House and dairy for Westwood Farm and has now been transformed into snug and characterful cottages. Enjoy peaceful views over the surrounding farmland from the bedroom. 

Westwood Farm cottage offers a great central location to explore the Jurassic Coast. You could go hunting for fossils on the beach, kayak to Old Harry Rocks, or explore the cobbled streets of Dorset’s harbour towns. 1,000-year-old Corfe Castle is also just a five-minute drive away and guests at the cottage can visit the ancient ruins for free.

A ten-minute drive down the road takes you to Studland Bay where you can walk, sunbathe or swim along the four-mile stretch of golden, sandy beach. You can also hop on a ferry and head over to Brownsea Island or Bournemouth & Poole.

These cottages are perfect for a group holiday where guests can also enjoy their own space as well as coming together for dinners and cosy nights in Westwood Farm. There is an interconnecting door between these cottages.

Layout

Westwood Farm (Sleeps 8 + 2 dogs + cot)

Ground floor

Enter into the hallway with lounge to the left and corridor ahead. At the end of the corridor and on the left are stairs to the first floor. Along the corridor and on the right is the dining room, which leads on to the kitchen. Off the kitchen is a small utility room with a toilet and sink. There is a second set of stairs to the first floor off the kitchen.

First floor

Up the stairs off the corridor are three double bedrooms and one twin room. Towards the end of the corridor is a bathroom and shower room. The second set of stairs leads down to the kitchen and is opposite the bathroom.

 

The Cheese House (Sleeps + 1 dog + cot)

Ground floor

Sitting room with woodburner and kitchen/dining room.

First floor

Open plan double bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

Parking: There is enough space for four cars to be parked adjacent to the cottage. There is also parking available in front of the farm house for several additional cars.

1 Acorn: simple living accommodation with basic furniture and fixtures fit for purpose and clean. Running water and a toilet are provided. There could be some limitations to heating and washing facilities – details of these will be stated clearly on the cottage's webpage. Bedding, linen and towels are supplied with a few exceptions, which are again clearly stated). Facilities for basic catering and living are provided. In general, a 1 Acorn cottage does not have WiFi.

2 Acorn: a mid-quality range of furniture and fittings. Bathroom facilities are basic or there may be a high number of guests to bathroom ratio depending on the size of the cottage. Very few 2 Acorn cottages have WiFi and the kitchen white goods and washing facilities are basic. Bedding, linen and towels are supplied in all 2-5 Acorn cottages.

3 Acorn: a good, standard offer. Generally it is correctly proportioned for the number of guests but could have a few compromises, for example a small kitchen, or a lower bathroom to guest ratio. The variety of white goods available will be better than a 2 Acorn cottage.

4 Acorn: these cottages have more premium furniture, fittings and lighting. Additionally the ratio of bathrooms to guests is likely to be higher, and the bathrooms would be more likely to have separate and spacious showers instead of showers over baths.

5 Acorn: a luxury accommodation offer with very few limiting factors. This is the highest offer available. It is well-equipped and has spacious facilities throughout the cottage or is set within an extraordinary location or building. The furniture is of a high standard, and has real comfort for modern living.
