Enjoy crafts, pottery, poetry and zine making all inspired by blossom. Book your slot via the links below. You can drop into the pop up space too, every day between 12.30 and 2.30pm to make some blossom origami, contribute towards a collective poetry piece inspired by Simon Armitage and learn more about blossom across London. 22 April - 28 April, 12.30-2.30pm: Drop into this pop up blossom space right in the heart of London. Contribute to a collective poetry piece inspired by Simon Armitage, print photos in Cewe's photobooth, create your very own blossom origami and learn about blossom across the capital. Free workshop, 23 April, 2.30-5pm: Explore the benefits of connecting with the wild through seasonal herbs. Rebecca will lead an interactive session; you’ll be invited to creatively reflect on what you know; and what you understand about medicinal herbs. Everyone will create a ‘Herb Journal’, whilst being shown how to make a seasonal Fire Cider, an adaptable recipe for strength throughout the year. All levels of knowledge and experience welcome! Free workshop, 24 April, 2.30-5pm: Use basic hand building techniques to make animals and plants out of clay taking inspiration from blossom. We'll embed the works with seeds creating 'seed bombs'. The participants can take their works home and plant them in pots or in the garden. This workshop is sold out.
Free workshop, 25 April, 2.30-5pm: In this workshop, using the medium of zines, (self-published DIY magazines), we’ll explore the theme ‘gardens as sanctuary’ - how plants and gardens can support us, our communities and society. Cutting up botanical magazines and using a range of prompts, we’ll start by making mini paper garden zines, before creating a collaborative A5 mini zine, which will be shared after the workshop. Free workshop, 26 April, 2.30-5pm Participants will discuss poems that speak to the fierce, generous joy of flowers, and to blossoming as an unstoppable force. They will respond to prompts that invite them to write their own poetry and will write up their final poems on wildflower seed paper, to either plant at home, or to pass onto the space for someone else to plant. Free workshops, 27 April, 12-1pm, 1-2pm, 2-3pm, 3-4pm, 4-5pm: Mould flower blossom, have a go at pressing leaves into clay, or make a bird's nest to add to our collaborative clay sculpture. Mud Gang is a social enterprise with a focus on creating space to play with clay. Click here to book.
Free workshop, 28 April, 2-5pm. This session will be in collaboration with artist Brie Moreno. Learn how to illustrate blossom inspired images using different media. Use your images to create a zine, using beginner binding methods. This workshop is run by a community collective of women, in celebration of the female experience. This particular session is a women-only space for women of all identities, including trans women. This event is sold out.
