See how Christmas celebrations and decorations have evolved over the centuries from the swinging 1920s, indulgent feasting of the Georgian era, to the memorable ‘make do and mend’ 1950s. As you explore the house and travel back in time, how many traditions you will spot in the making.

Christmas will soon be here and so will Father Christmas. Each year he and his Elves take time out from his busy schedule to visit Nunnington Hall. Before the day, you’ll receive a personalised invitation to visit the Elf workshop to get hands on with festive crafts, before meeting Father Christmas in his grotto and receive your gift.

Art for Christmas – Community Exhibition
Saturday 17 November – Sunday 16 December (weekends only)

The Art for Christmas exhibition is a creative platform for artists to showcase a mixed media of work, and celebrates the best arts and crafts from Yorkshire and beyond. Covering a variety of subjects including local life, landscape, wildlife and more, there are no restrictions and plenty of diversity.  Celebrating its fourth year, it once again showcases some of the best undiscovered artists in the region. All pieces are for sale with a proportion supporting Nunnington Hall.

Joyful carol singing
Sunday 9 & Sunday 16 December from 12.30pm

Celebrate the lead up to Christmas with good old fashioned carol singing. Including the Driffield Middle 8 Singers on Sunday 9 December and the Easingwold Singers on Sunday 16 December, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Stocking fillers in the shop
Head to the shop for a fantastic range of Christmas decorations, seasonal food and unique gifts in our ‘Local shop’. Here you’ll find locally sourced products, including Yorkshire made wine, original paintings inspired by Nunnington and cheese boards created from wood felled in the garden last winter.

Christmas just isn’t the same without the treats you expect to enjoy, but don’t worry we’ve got plenty of favourites to enjoy in the tea-room. Whether you need a quick hot chocolate and mince pie fix, or something more filling before exploring the garden our chefs have got it all planned.
