Visiting Nymans: What you need to know
Welcome to Nymans. The garden, woodland and toilets are open with a takeaway service only available in the cafe. The house & gallery are closed. Here you’ll find some helpful information about what to expect and what’s on offer when you visit. If you are a regular visitor things may seem a little different, however all measures have been put in place to keep our staff, volunteers and visitors safe.
Booking a ticket
Please book your visit in advance; we cannot guarantee entry unless you have a ticket. Every Friday we release tickets for the following week which need to be booked by 3pm the day before you visit. You can book your tickets on our website.
During your visit
We kindly ask that you maintain social distancing to keep all everyone safe. To help with this we request that you follow the one-way in and one-way out system in the garden. Entrance to the garden is to the left of the reception building and you’ll be greeted on arrival where your booking details will be checked. Please wear a mask while we check your ticket and welcome you into the garden.
We request that masks are worn inside the café when ordering takeaway as well as in the toilets.
Garden and woodland
We operate a one-way system in and out of the garden to help ensure social distancing. The woodland is open as normal but you’ll need to book a ticket for your visit if using the car park so we can make sure we have enough room to park everyone who visits us.
House and gallery
The house is temporarily closed until further notice, in line with the latest government restrictions.
Eating and Shopping
Our café is open for takeaway service only serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and bakes. Please wear a mask while in the cafe and observe social distancing measures. No seating is available and the kiosk and horsebox will be closed. We are only able to accept card payments.
The shop and plant centre are closed.
Our new Riding House Café
We are converting the old Riding House next to the house, into a much needed additional café in the heart of the garden. There may be some disruption while we complete building work. The café should be ready in time for Summer 2021.
From Monday 2 November 2020 until Sunday 31 January 2021 dogs are welcome in the garden each afternoon between 1.30pm and 4pm. Dogs are not permitted in the café but there is a small amount of outside seating by the café where you’ll be welcome to stop and take a break. Please keep your dog on a short lead while you’re in the garden. No dogs allowed in the Wall Garden.
Our car park opens at 9.00am and will close at 4.00pm. Please make sure you’ve booked a ticket if you need to use the car park as it tends to get very full on busy days. If you prefer you can travel to Nymans on public transport. You’ll find further details about this on our ’Getting Here’ section of the website.
