As well as exploring behind the scenes, the tours will give an insight into the history and architecture of the castle, how it has changed over the years and how we care for this historic building.
Taya Drake, House Steward explains why the team decided to offer these new tours:.
"We already run Keep and Roof Void tours at Penrhyn and they are really popular. We're always being asked about the cellars and other off limits rooms so we thought we'd give the public a chance to see these places and the work we do..
As a conservation team there's nothing we enjoy more than sharing our collections and buildings with our visitors, and the stories and history attached to them. We’re really looking forward to sharing hidden Penrhyn with the public"
The tours will last approximatley 45 minutes and visit some parts of the castle that can only be accessed by narrow spiral staircases and walkways. At times they may even require visitors to don fetching hard hats. All part of the fun!
