Wales Nature Ambassador
“It was where I experienced outdoor adventure for the first time. I left my council job to retrain in outdoor pursuits, realising just how lucky I was to live 20 minutes from this magical area.”
Growing up at the foot of Snowdon, it wasn’t until recently Hannah fell in love with the outdoors and nature. A new outlook on the landscape of her home inspired her to leave her council job and pursue a career in the outdoors. She is now trained in outdoors pursuits and on a mission to work with school children to get them to connect with Wales and nature.
Why Llyn Ogwen
“No matter how many times I visit, it’s a different experience every time. It was where I experienced outdoor adventure for the first time and realised how lucky I was to live 20 minutes from this magical area.”
Why spend more time outdoors?
“We are fortunate to have the best adventure playground in the World. Snowdonia has it all…the National Park, unique culture and history, 200 miles of stunning coastline and endless inspiring mountainous landscape steeped in myth and legend.”
My other favourite places in Wales
- Crib Goch - The best moment on a mountain ever for me was watching the sunrise on Crib Goch at 4am on a summer’s morning. Just me and the mountains surrounding me.
- Porthdinllaen Beach - This small coastal village located on the Llyn Peninsula has amazing coastal path walks and is a wildlife haven.
- Dinorwig Quarry, Llanberis - Covering more than 700 acres it brings local history to life as you can see first-hand tools, inclines and buildings on site to this day. I love slate and the history of the industry as my grandad was a slate splitter.
