Bring your school group to Shugborough and explore the estate and all its wonderful treasures.
Self-guided visits offer the opportunity to explore the estate at your own pace and tailor your experience to the needs of your class. We welcome teachers and forest school leaders to use our outdoor spaces to help students connect with nature; and indoor spaces including the Mansion and Servants’ Quarters to learn about life in a different era.
The Mansion tells the story of Admiral George Anson’s 1740s circumnavigation and Thomas Anson’s vision for creating the estate’s and parkland.
What can we offer?
Support with planning your visit
Access to the entire estate
A classroom space for wet weather, bag storage and lunch breaks
Disabled toilets in various locations and a Changing Places toilet at a central location
A unique natural play area for some down time
We can help you plan your visit and point out the seasonal highlights at the farm, gardens and parkland.
Self-led visits offer schools great value for money. Educational Group Members (EGMs) can visit again and again with no additional cost while each visit helps support our charitable work. You can learn more about EGMs on our website.
