Redwoods Restaurant

We’ve introduced new safety measures including table service in our seating areas, screens at our till and collection points, and waymarked routes. We’ll also only be accepting card payment. We look forward to welcoming you back and know that you’ll support us to make this a safe experience for everyone. Picnics are also welcome.

Opening times

Daily | 9.30am - 4pm | Accessible by pre-booked ticket only.

Anglesey Abbey, Quy Road, Lode, Cambridge, CB25 9EJ

For more information, please call 01223 810092.

Please note that Redwoods Restaurant is located in the Visitor Centre, and accessible with a pre-booked ticket only.

We're currently accepting payment by card only. We're unable to provide fresh tap water at the moment, and the hot drinks loyalty card scheme has been suspended until further notice. Redeeming complete cards or stamping current ones poses a cross-contamination risk. These measures help to keep us all safe, thank you.

In line with government guidance visitors will be required to wear a face covering in our enclosed spaces. Please bring one along with you.

We've recently re-introduced the use of reusable cups, and if you purchase a drink using your own reusable cup, we'll give you 25p off as a thank you for helping the environment.

Redwoods Restaurant (Table service only)

We have reopened Redwoods Restaurant which is now accessible and is included in your pre-booked entry ticket for the estate, and are looking forward to welcoming you back for your favourite treats. Please be aware that things will be a little different on your next visit as we have moved to table service only, and our restaurant is operating both a sit-in option, and a takeaway kiosk at the same time. Please read the below information for more details on what to expect.

Indoor Takeaway

Inside Redwoods, you'll also find our Indoor Takeaway kiosk. Serving a limited range of hot and cold drinks, cakes and bakes and sandwiches, it's the perfect place to pick up a bite to eat or drink before heading into the gardens. Please note that we’ll also only be accepting card payment, and are unable to accept reusable cups or water bottles at the moment.

Useful to know

Please use hand sanitiser.

Keeping you safe

You'll notice that things look different, with a new layout inside the restaurant designed to help you keep to the social distancing guidelines. Please follow the designated routes for the Indoor Kiosk and seated areas, allowing a safe distance from others at all times. We've also installed screens at our till points, and have a hand sanitsation station immediately inside the door for you to use as you enter.

Track and Trace

As we've opened up our restaurant seating area, we are now following the governments track and trace guidelines. We have the government QR codes which can be scanned using the NHS track and trace app, and will also be scanning membership cards or noting down details should you choose to sit in and don't have access to this way of checking in to a venue.

Please wear a face covering in our enclosed spaces.

You'll need a face covering

Please wear a face covering if you're in any of our enclosed spaces, including the Restaurant. Please keep these on until you have ordered at the till, and are back at your table.

Table service only

If you choose to sit inside, we're running with table service only. When you arrive, please find a table before going up to the counter, taking note of your table number. You'll need to order at the till (in groups no larger than two) and collect any drinks you've ordered, and we'll bring your food out to you.

A limited menu

We're running a reduced menu at the moment whilst our kitchen team are working with a reduced capacity. We'll still be serving your favourite hot and cold drinks, along with our cakes and bakes, light bites and of course, ice creams. If you've got an allergy concern, please speak to a member of the team who will be happy to assist you.

Eating with us

Eating with little ones

Our children's lunchbox meal deals are available for both takeaway and eat in. These are pre-made, containing five items with a choice of Cheese or Ham sandwiches, and Orange or Apple juice cartons.

We also serve babyccinos, so all the family can enjoy a warm drink after a days adventuring.

Bring a picnic

Sunny days and bank holidays can often be busy, especially at lunchtimes, but you're always welcome to bring a picnic. These can be enjoyed in the picnic area outside the Restaurant, or out in the gardens, we welcome picnics anywhere in the gardens other than our formal areas. Our favourite spots include South Glade, East Lawn or even one of the avenues towards Hoe Fen.

Don't worry if you can't pack everything, you can top up your picnic with anything you might need including coffee, ice cream or even cold drinks from our Outdoor Kiosk located in South Glade.

If you have an allergy or intolerance, please let us know

Food made here in our busy kitchen is made using a wide range of ingredients. Whilst we do our best, we can’t guarantee that any of our dishes are totally allergen free. We’d love to help you with your choice by telling you about our ingredients. Please speak to a member of our team when you visit.
