Redwoods Restaurant

We have two outdoor kiosks open in the gardens, and will be serving takeaway hot and cold drinks, some light snacks and ice cream. We’ve introduced new safety measures including closure of our seating areas, screens at our till and collection points, and waymarked routes. We’ll also only be accepting card payment. We look forward to welcoming you back and know that you’ll support us to make this a safe experience for everyone. Picnics are also welcome.

Redwoods Restaurant

With a menu full of seasonal delights, Redwoods Restaurant serves a variety of sandwiches, light bites, main meals, cakes and bakes. These change with the seasons, reflecting the locally sourced food available.

Hot and cold drinks, cakes and bakes and light bites are served all day, with hot food served between 11.30am and 2.30pm.

The restaurant also had a large seating area, with spaces for families, larger groups or even tables of two to sit and enjoy a meal at Anglesey Abbey.

During the warmer months, there's a fully enclosed picnic area with picnic tables, perfect for those summer get togethers.

Eating with us

Eating with little ones

We serve lunch from 11.30am, so if you've come in early to burn off some energy, lunch will be waiting for you when you get back to the Visitor Centre.

Find our children's lunchbox meal deals in the fridges as you enter the restaurant, these can be made up of any of the five marked items, which include sandwiches, juice cartons and of course, a sweet treat!

Many of our hot meals can be served as half portions for those with smaller appetites, just ask one of our friendly team members when you order. We also serve babyccinos, so all the family can enjoy a warm drink after a days adventuring.

Bring a picnic

Sunny days and bank holidays can often be busy, especially at lunchtimes, but you're always welcome to bring a picnic. These can be enjoyed in the picnic area outside the Restaurant, or out in the gardens, we welcome picnics anywhere in the gardens other than our formal areas. Our favourite spots include South Glade, East Lawn or even one of the avenues towards Hoe Fen.

Don't worry if you can't pack everything, you can top up your picnic with anything you might need including coffee, ice cream or even cold drinks from our fridges at Redwoods Restaurant.

Four-legged friends

Dogs may not be allowed into the gardens, however they are welcome to join you for a bite to eat or a cuppa in our picnic area. Please ask a member of the Visitor Welcome Team to show you the way through to the picnic area.

If you have an allergy or intolerance, please let us know

Food made here in our busy kitchen is made using a wide range of ingredients. Whilst we do our best, we can’t guarantee that any of our dishes are totally allergen free. We’d love to help you with your choice by telling you about our ingredients. Please speak to a member of our team when you visit.

Pick up one of our reusable cups

We have introduced a reusable cup for you to use whilst you are with us at Anglesey Abbey in a bid to reduce our paper cup waste. If you're going on a walk, or just prefer to use a takeaway cup, ask for your hot drink to be made in one of these cups, then pop it in one of our collection points before you leave. Not only are you helping us do our bit to save the planet, you'll also save 25p on your hot drink of choice.

You can refill your water bottle for free at Anglesey Abbey

Reducing plastic waste

Did you know you can refill your water bottle for free at Anglesey Abbey? We're proud to be doing our bit to help look after the environment by reducing the amount of plastic wasted. If you've forgotten yours, or are in need of a new one, we also sell reusable thermal bottles in our shop, with every penny going back into looking after this special place. If you do decide to purchase a drink from Redwoods, you'll also find that all of our chilled drinks are sold in glass bottles, which can be easily recycled after use.

Lode Mill wholemeal flour

Did you know that some of our favourite bakes include freshly ground wholemeal flour, made right here at Anglesey Abbey? An afternoon tea staple, our fruit scone is made with flour ground by our volunteer millers at Lode Mill. We think this adds a lovely texture to it, perfect combined with a sweet fruit jam and spoonful's of clotted cream!
