After the hustle and bustle of Christmas, the New Year is the perfect time to take up mindfulness. Allowing yourself to fully take note of your senses, mindfulness is a form of meditation that can be practised at any time, anywhere. Get fit

With over 114 acres to explore, Anglesey Abbey has a perfect spot for everyone. If you want a short walk to get a breath of fresh air, our Winter Garden route takes around 45 minutes to complete, or if you're looking for a longer walk to really stretch your legs, the Hoe Fen Trail can take up to 90 minutes. Take up a new hobby

Why not take up a new hobby throughout 2020? Maybe you got a new camera for Christmas? Our gardens offer the perfect backdrop whilst you learn how to take that perfect photograph, or even practise your painting skills with your new equipment. From brushes to sketchpads, you can even pick up all you need from our shop, and you'll be supporting this special place at the same time.

Learn something new

Open 362 days a year, the House is a treasure chest of history and information. From paintings, clocks and sculpture, through to tapestry, silver and books, there's a story hidden behind every object. Head inside to learn about these, and how we care for these to protect them for the future.

Put your gardening gloves on

With the theme of learning something new and practising mindfulness, gardening could be a perfect solution. From creating colourful displays with flowers, to producing your own fruit and vegetables, gardening can be incredibly satisfying and fun along the way. Why not book on to one of our free garden tours to learn more about our gardens? (Subject to availability. Mon-Friday only, please check the dates).

Have you ever wanted to learn a new skill whilst meeting new people? This January, come and meet our volunteering team and discover the different roles we have to offer. From welcoming our visitors to Anglesey Abbey, to caring for our collection, there's something for everyone. Our Volunteer Open Day is on 18 January, from 11am, please head to the Visitor Centre.
