Family fun this summer at Arlington

There's lots of summer fun to be had with the popular family drop-in crafts, ranger days, rag rug workshops and more.

Treemendous tree trail (£1)

28 Jul–2 Sep, 10.30am-4.30pm
Pick up a trail booklet from reception and start exploring the grounds at Arlington Court to find some of our terrific trees. Have a go at leaf rubbing and see if you can identify all of the trees to claim to your prize! There will be a route for little legs and one for longer legs.

Outdoor Theatre

Sat 28 July - The Merchant of Venice (Illyria)
Thu 16 Aug - Treasure Island (Box Tree Productions)
Fri 31 Aug - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Chapterhouse Theatre Company)

Take a look at the shows we have on over the summer and relax, sit back, and enjoy an evening of fun and laughter with a summer of outdoor theatre.

Family ranger days

Mon 30 Jul, 6, 13, 20 & 27 Aug and Wed 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 Aug, 11am-3pm
Join our rangers on a family fun day in the outdoors; learn about the work they do and try your hand at picking up some skills. Please note, there is a strong chance of having too much fun and getting mucky.

Drop-in family crafts

Tues 31 Jul, 7, 14, 21 & 28 Aug and Thu 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 Aug, 12-4pm
Have some fun with the family and have a go at creating something crafty to take home. Bring your imagination and we'll provide the materials.

Fundraising Friday

3, 10, 17 & 24 August, 11am-3pm
Join us every Friday in August for some fundraising colouring in fun as we raise money to conserve the precious silk hangings in the Boudoir. Pick up a poscard to colour in and donate. Four designs to choose from with details from the silk hangings. (Suggested donation 50p)

Drop-in rag rug workshops

Saturday 11 & 18 Aug, 11am-3pm
Local artist Deborah Hastings will be showing how to make beautiful creations from recycled scraps of material.  Find out the basics for free, or make one of her fun designs to take home such as a hedgehog, Jacob sheep, red squirrel and more (£3 each).

And remember your picnic rug - there’s nothing quite like laying out the rug on a lovely summer day and sitting on the lawn enjoying something tasty from the tea-room.
