The tranquil setting of Bateman's inspired many of Kipling's works as he expounded the beauty of the garden and surrounding countryside in his stories and verse. Join John Wiltshire this spring and capture the same beauty in paint.

Paint a picture

We have two opportunities for you to join local artist, John Wiltshire, this spring and summer to learn how to capture a picture of Bateman's in paint. These workshops are aimed at beginners although if you have some experience of painting then you'd be welcome to join the workshop for this exclusive opportunity to paint in Bateman's garden.

  • Workshops take place on Saturday 19 May and Thursday 23 August from 11am to 4pm.
  • Art materials will be provided but participants will need to provide their own easel or board and a chair.
  • Workshops cost £45 per person.
  • Light lunch is included.
