Children's Literature Festival

Two children reading at a Book Festival

In partnership with the Book Hive Bookshop in Norwich, we're very excited to be holding our first Children's Literature Festival at Blickling Estate. Join us for a whole day of book and illustration activities with some of the UK's best loved children's writers, including Lauren Child who is headlining the event.

Saturday 6 July | 10am - 4pm

The sessions will take place in a variety of locations around the house and gardens, and you're welcome to join as many of them as you wish.  However spaces are limited so you'll need to ensure you have a ticket for each event.

Booking your tickets

Take a look at our line up below and work out who you'd like to see, then follow the link to book your tickets.  You'll need to have a ticket for each event and a limited amount are available for each venue, so we'd recommend you book yours early.  All the festival tickets are free, but normal admission will still apply, which you can pay on arrival.  NT members and children under five are free of charge.

Pop up bookshop

The Book Hive Bookshop will be setting up a pop up shop in the Loft Gallery for one day only. You'll find a variety of books by each guest speaker, so whether you're waiting for a book signing or just having a browse, there will be plenty to entice you.

Storytelling | 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm & 3pm

Throughout the day we'll be holding storytelling sessions for all ages, in a secret location at Blickling!  Sessions are free, so just head to Visitor Reception on arrival to book your place on the day.

Book Trails

Discover the wonderful world of books with a children's trail in the garden or try and find the naughty bookworms hiding in the house. A great way to get younger children exploring the house.

Festival line up

All six authors and illustrators will be holding book signing events during the day and their books will be on sale in the Loft Gallery from 10am - 4pm. Just look out for a detailed list of times on arrival. Take a look at who will be joining us...
