Cycle classes

If you're new to cycling or just want a refresher there are a few options to help you get started:

Learn to Ride - Currently cancelled

Are you keen to learn how to ride a bike? Our 45-minute one-to-one sessions take place every Sunday. We are unable to offer these currently, however you're welcome to email your enquiry and we will be in touch shortly to get you booked in. Classes are tailored for children or adults and can be booked by emailing: learntorideclumber@nationaltrust.org.uk

Sessions cost £8, plus normal admission to the park. Our Learn To Ride lessons will help you gain the knowledge and skills to build confidence on a bike. Bring your cycle and helmet if you have one or borrow one of ours for the session.

Ride Again

Our Ride Again class focuses on regaining confidence on a bike and developing new skills.

This group is for adults who are new to riding a bike, haven't ridden for many years, returning to cycling after injury or are lacking in confidence.

When?

Tuesdays, 10am - 12pm and Sundays 10am - 12pm. Please note, normal admission fees apply.

Graeme is our expert instructor who will discuss your requirements and work with you to improve your skills out in the beautiful Clumber parkland making new friends along the way.

Meet at the Cycle Hub, each session will last for no more than two hours.

If you don’t have your own bike we can fit one for you from our cycle fleet [£3] and provide you with a helmet.

There will be a short introduction and rider briefing, the group will consist of no more than four participants and a ride leader assistant.

It is an informal and relaxed session and will be tailored to your individual needs. Places are available on a first come, first served basis.

You will learn basic skills including stopping and starting, braking, gears, body position pedalling techniques and observation to improve your general riding and confidence in a traffic-free environment.

You will also be introduced to basic maintenance and bike repairs whilst out on the bike and progressively improve your fitness and mental well-being in a beautiful environment.

Please bring suitable clothing for the conditions and comfortable footwear.
