Getting active at Clumber Park this New Year
As 2022 gets underway, what new adventures and activities will you try out in the New Year?
With our regular activities postponed for now, why not discover areas of the park that you’ve never explored before?
A great way to become more active and explore different areas of the park is to join our led walks.
Discover Clumber Park is every first Thursday of the month, meeting at 10.30am outside the Discovery Centre, these walks are around 5-8 miles long.
Sunday Walkabout is every third Sunday, meeting at 10:30am by the Clock Tower in the Turning Yard, there will be 2-3 different distances to choose from on the day.
Hardwick Village Wednesday Evening Walkabout is every first and third Wednesday of the month, starting at 7:30pm at the Hardwick Village Social Club, if you have not attended this walk before, please contact us on email@example.com or call 01909 476592 for access details.
For all walks, you do not need to pre-book, the led walks are free but normal admission applies for the daytime walks.
Why not try heading out further afield and exploring the 3,800 acres and outer boundaries of the park? We recommend bringing water and appropriate clothing if you’re exploring quieter areas of the park throughout the winter months.
We host the Sherwood Nordic Walkers every Thursday at 10am, come and join them to improve your fitness, increase your walking knowledge and make new friends. Please visit their website for more information and to book a place.

Take a break
Bring a picnic and stop mid-route for a bite to eat and soak up some of the changing seasons in the park. There’s endless photo opportunities and wildlife to be spotted.
If you’re new to running or a seasoned sprinter, there’s a variety of terrain to take on throughout Clumber Park. Our lake route provides steady inclines with a mixture of pathways, or head further into the park to incorporate heathland, woodland and unrivalled views.
We play host to the Clumber ParkRun every Saturday morning at 9am at Central Bark or fancy a midweek jog? Join the Clumber Park Run Group every Wednesday at 9am.
Make it a habit
Making walking a habit helps you to stay motivated, so does having a target such as step count, distance or time duration, to aim for.
