Heritage Open Day at Clumber Park
Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers.
Why not join us for a tour?
As part of the celebration Clumber Park will open its doors free of charge on Friday 8th September and visitors will be able to experience a range of special behind the scenes tours throughout the day. Each tour last about 45 minutes to an hour and is with one of the Clumber Park team. The tours start at 11am with a tour of the walled kitchen garden looking at our heritage varieties of vegetables and fruit with Head Gardener Chris Margrave. Next up it’s a tour of the ducal features in Pleasure Ground with a chance to find out more about its history and the work we’ll be doing as part of Clumber Park Revitalised. Meet our expert Gardener Jack Pitts at the Dukes Study at 12 noon. Later Ranger Tom Biddulph will be exploring further afield and looking at our natural heritage with a tour of Clumber Park’s differing habitats. Meet at Hardwick Village Car Park at 1.30pm.
