Learning opportunities at Clumber Park

Child pond dipping at Clumber Park

We provide an exciting and stimulating environment for educational activities all year round and offer an excellent resource for curriculum-based work, particularly for Key Stages 1 and 2.

A base to explore

The Discovery Centre is the main base and meeting point for all our learning activities. It is open to the public and is a great place to learn more about history, our amazing array of wildlife and get involved in activities.

You can also get up close and personal to all kinds of creatures - furry ones, feathery ones, slimy ones and crawly ones.

The Discovery Centre is also home to our tank where you can spot water beetles, water snails and try and spot the stick insect.

Our sessions

Some of the sessions can be combined to make a full day session if required. On booking an activity schools will be offered a classroom space at the Discovery Centre and coach parking is free.

We offer sessions on the following topics:

  • habitats
  • seasonal themes
  • gardens
  • minibeasts
  • fantastic fungi
  • story sessions
  • wild art / sculpting with natural materials
  • estate story
  • orienteering
  • totally trees

How to book:

To book or to discuss a learning activity, please contact: Vicky Buckberry on 01909 511070 or Nigel Dorrington on 01909 511078. We recommend that schools book well in advance if possible.

All activities are £3.50 per child for a half day or £5.00 for a full day, and adult helpers go free.

Please note our admission charges to Clumber Park changed in January 2017 and we now operate a pay per person system.  Please refer to the Prices section on the website or speak to Vicky or Nigel for further details, including Education Group membership which could lower the cost of your visit.
